Following the excellent response to the release of the first volume of Blake’s 7 (@blakes_7) – The Liberator Chronicles, Big Finish Productions (@bigfinish) announced that its output for the range will be increased in 2013.

The series of enhanced audiobooks, released in a licence deal with B7 Enterprises, will extend to a further four box sets each containing 3 stories. The productions will see the return of Gareth Thomas as Roj Blake, Paul Darrow as Kerr Avon, Michael Keating as Vila Restal, Jan Chappell as Cally, Stephen Greif (@StephenGreif) as Travis, Jacqueline Pearce as Servalan and additional cast members yet to be announced.

Working on the series has been a dream come true for me,” says producer David Richardson. “And I’m thrilled that listeners are enjoying the stories as much as we are enjoying making them. We have some big plans coming up, including the return of familiar guest characters.

I’m delighted that the classic TV series has got a new lease of life in these audios,” says Andrew Mark Sewell (@sewell7), executive producer for B7 Media. “I’m looking forward to continuing the collaboration with Big Finish – 2013 will certainly be a great year for Blake’s 7 fans!

However there is still much to look forward to in 2012 with Volume 2 of The Liberator Chronicles which will be released in August and a new Blake’s 7 novel, The Forgotten by Cavan Scott and Mark Wright, released in May.
