DC's Cinematic Suicide Squad Revealed?

Movie News

We reported a few weeks ago how END OF WATCH’s David Ayer was being eyed to helm Warner Brothers and DC’s Suicide Squad movie, TASK FORCE X. Now comes word, courtesy of Latino Review, on just which characters will be making up the famed villainous team.

First up, the report claims that the man at the centre of the Suicide Squad, the face of the operation, will be Floyd Lawton, aka Deadshot (above). Deemed the best assassin on the planet by some, the character took a starring role in the recent ASSAULT ON ARKHAM animated release and has also become quite the fan-favourite amongst ARROW fans, where he has appeared several times played by Michael Rowe.

Next up is George ‘Digger’ Harkness, aka Captain Boomerang (above). This is another character that had a prominent role in the ASSAULT ON ARKHAM feature and another who’ll be appearing in the small-screen world that The CW’s ARROW AND THE FLASH exist in. In that particular world, he’ll be played by Nick Tarabay and is set to during ARROW’s Season 3. As the name suggests, the character is a master of the boomerang and also has quite the mouth and attitude.

Another character who is due to appear in the The CW’s shared universe is Danton Black, aka Multiplex (above). Often a Firestorm villain, he’ll be debuting in the second episode of THE FLASH, played by Michael Christopher Smith. The character’s main power is that he has the ability to create multiple versions of himself, similar to Marvel’s Multiple Man, a villain best known in the X-Men world.

Blockbuster is said to be another villain who will be part of the Suicide Squad, although it’s unclear as to which version of the character will be featured. Over the years, several people have taken on the Blockbuster moniker. The Mark Desmond version of the super strong villain (above), best known for butting heads with Batman and Robin, seems to be the logical bet.

Moving on to some lesser-known villains, the illusion-casting Mindboggler, animal-mimicker Vixen, and the super-fast Jaculi are said to make up the rest of the cinematic Suicide Squad. That means that those hoping for Harley Quinn and Deathstroke are to be left massively disappointed. Still, treat the above as purely rumour for now and, of course, anything can change before the film fully moves forward.

As ever, expect to hear more on this as it develops.
