With a GODZILLA sequel already confirmed as happening, Deadline is reporting that Max Borenstein will be returning to pen the screenplay. Borenstein worked on Gareth Edwards’ first GODZILLA movie and has more recently landed the writing job for the Tom Hiddleston-starring SKULL ISLAND.

In terms of plot for the sequel to this year’s Big G outing, it’s been suggested and teased that we’ll be seeing appearances from the likes of Rodan, King Ghidorah, and Mothra. Edwards will return to direct the film, although he’s initially tied up with the first of the STAR WARS spin-off movies.

The sequel to this year’s GODZILLA has already been confirmed for a June 8th, 2018 release.
