Dwayne Johnson Teases Big Screen DC Role

Movie News

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has been rumoured to be playing various DC characters for years now. There’s been talk of The Great One playing John Stewart, Lobo, Black Adam, and Captain Marvel, amongst others. In a recent interview, Johnson confirmed that he was indeed now signed on to appear in a DC/Warner Brothers movie, but only revealed that his character is as strong as Superman and that you just need to say the word. This prompted many to presume that he’ll be appearing in the SHAZAM film that’s rumoured for 2016. Adding further to this, Johnson today took to Twitter to post this teasing image.

The image was accompanied with the caption, “Somebody’s gonna get it…”

Many are taking this as confirmation that Johnson will indeed be involved in the SHAZAM movie, although it’s unknown whether he’ll be playing Captain Marvel or Black Adam. To us, Black Adam seems a better fit, but who knows? From what Johnson’s said previously, it appears we should be hearing shortly just what role he’s managed to bag in the DC cinematic universe. Interestingly, Johnson was set to play Black Adam back in 2007, although that project fell apart.

Expect more on this as it develops.
