From the team behind the ever-popular WRECK-IT RALPH and FROZEN, today sees the trailer released for their brand new cinematic creation BIG HERO 6. Influenced by the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name, the filmmakers were encouraged to “Create your own universe, create your own characters and don’t worry about anything else” and the results look delicious.

Combine San Francisco with Tokyo and what do you get? Yes you guessed it, the futuristic setting for this film a.k.a San Fransokyo. OK, so maybe the name of this city isn’t the most refined or spectacular, but in terms of rollability, it certainly does its job in the tongue department. The film itself features a young robotics inventor who along with his white-tac excuse of a cyborg, unearths a high-stakes criminal plot. The two pals must bring together a handful of somewhat inexperienced anti-crime folk and combat this burning issue. Think Mystery Inc. but with a lot of wiring and grounded in buckets of slickness.

The trailer itself offers some awesome visuals that really, we have to expect from a studio who spends $150mil and above on its products, but fans of the aforementioned back catalogue will be pleased to see the quality of the animation hasn’t even got close to decreasing. The voice cast includes Jamie Chung, James Cromwell, Scott Adsit, Damon Wayans Jr. and Ryan Potter.

The film itself will be accompanied by a short named FEAST and will be thrown into cinemas 30th January 2015. Tony Stark and co. better watch their backs, there's competition afoot!

Official Synopsis:

With all the heart and humor audiences expect from Walt Disney Animation Studios, “Big Hero 6” is an action-packed comedy-adventure about robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada, who learns to harness his genius—thanks to his brilliant brother Tadashi and their like-minded friends: adrenaline junkie Go Go Tamago, neatnik Wasabi, chemistry whiz Honey Lemon and fanboy Fred. When a devastating turn of events catapults them into the midst of a dangerous plot unfolding in the streets of San Fransokyo, Hiro turns to his closest companion—a robot named Baymax—and transforms the group into a band of high-tech heroes determined to solve the mystery. Inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name, and featuring comic-book style action, “Big Hero 6” is directed by Don Hall (“Winnie the Pooh”) and Chris Williams (“Bolt”), and produced by Roy Conli (“Tangled”)
