Kevin Smith Confirms TUSK Spin-Off

Movie News

Remember when Kevin Smith was going to be done with directing? Thankfully (for us Smith fans, at least), the famed Silent Bob seems to regularly have his fingers in a plethora of pies. With walrus horror TUSK set for a release later this year and Christmas terror to follow in ANTI-KLAUS, Smith has now seemingly confirmed a TUSK spin-off called YOGA HOSERS.

Speaking to Screen Daily, Smith confirmed, “Like TUSK, it sprang out of a podcast. There are two characters in a convenience store in TUSK that you see for five minutes, very much Ronsencrantz and Guildenstern. I’ve built a whole movie around them and I have brought one of the other characters from TUSK back.”

The podcast in question is a February edition of Smith’s Smodcast show. Whether YOGA HOSERS continues with the horror of TUSK is not known just yet, although the writer/director certainly seems to have whet the dark side of his appetite since 2011’s RED STATE.

As for TUSK, the film features Michael Parks as a man who lures Justin Long’s podcast interviewer into his home, then slowly turns him into a walrus. As you do. Haley Joel Osment and Genesis Rodriguez will also feature in the film that will be distributed through A24.
