So just who will be directing ANT-MAN now that the original helmer, Edgar Wright, has left a large director-shaped void after backing off from the project? Well it certainly won’t be GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY director James Gunn despite the rumours. Gunn, via Twitter, stated categorically that he would not be Wright’s replacement. He even suggested that Marvel Studios had become nervous regarding Wright’s ambitious take on ANT-MAN.

Gunn has previously said that Wright and Marvel, "don't have personalities that mesh in a comfortable way".

Wright is believed to be returning to his KOLCHAK: THE NIGHT STALKER project, which supposedly has Johnny Depp attached to star.

Gunn's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY will be released August 1st and amazingly ANT-MAN is still scheduled for July 17th, 2015 despite being currently director less.
