JJ Abrams Announces Force for Change

STAR WARS director J.J. Abrams has announced a chance to win a place in the next STAR WARS movie. The scheme is called ‘Force for Change’ and is designed to raise money for UNICEF’s Innovation Lab.  This child focused charity uses technological innovations in order to improve lives in the third world.

For a chance to win, interested parties need to make a donation via charity fundraising website Omaze.com. In addition to an opportunity to travel to London and be part of the new movie, those with big wallets can also get special rewards.  $40 just gets you a thank-you card (and four entries into the competition) but $10000 gets you a signed copy of the script, 1000 chances to win and your own light-sabre. If you happen to be super-rich, you could always shell out $50000 for your own private advanced screening and 5000 chances to win.  Clearly the competition is weighted in favour of the big spenders, but $10 gets you one entry and it is for a good cause. Maybe we’ve all watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory too many times but you never know, that one entry might just do it.

For more information, take a look at the very special message from J.J. Abrams below. Pay special attention to a cameo from a very STAR WARS style special effect, which looks amazing...
