Movie News

It was recently confirmed by Arnold Schwarzenegger that he’ll be playing an older version (yes, apparently their skin now ages) of the famous T-800 in the upcoming TERMINATOR: GENESIS. A younger version of that model was also confirmed, with it presumed that Das Arnold’s head would be attached to somebody else’s body thanks to the joys of modern technology. Now comes word that a bodybuilder has been cast to play said younger body, plus some interesting plot details have been revealed for Alan Taylor’s movie.

Aaron V. Williamson is the guy who will be playing the body of the younger T-800. As well as being a bodybuilder, Williamson has also worked as a fitness consultant on movies such as DJANGO UNCHAINED, 12 YEARS A SLAVE and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER.

In terms of plot, Hitfix has learnt the following:

“The TERMINATOR: GENESIS script folds into the first film in the series. There’s a scene in the script where literally we the see the scene in the first TERMINATOR where Arnold steps out, the punks threaten him, he rips Bill Paxton’s heart out and takes his clothes and wanders off. And as soon as that scene ends, another Arnold Schwarzenegger, who’s older and bearded and a very different version of the Terminator, comes walking in from the other side and plays another scene, right at the scene of that first incident.”

So, if this latest story is to be believed, not only will the T-800’s skin age, it will also grew a beard? Let’s just say that the jury is firmly out on this movie at this point.

Starring Arnold, Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi and Byung-hun Lee, TERMINATOR: GENESIS is currently scheduled for a 1st July, 2015 release.

Not sure what the fuss is about; skin ages (though I imagine most T-800s don't usually have an opportunity it age), and if you want to infiltrate a group of humans, why not grow a beard?

Sort of hoped that he was playing the Human that the T-800 was modeled after.

Of course the skin changes! Living tissue over metal skeleton.

Of course, I never expected a T800 to reach a retirable age ;-)

The T-800 did not rip out Bill Paxton's punk character's heart, nor did he take Paxton's clothes. What the hell has happened to accurate reporting of information? Watch the damn movie again. The T-800 punches through Brian Thompson's chest, removing his heart and then corners Brad Rearden's character, who immediately surrenders his clothing.
