Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick of G.I. Joe: Retaliation and Zombieland fame have been enlisted in adapting the upcoming Ubisoft title for the big screen.

The as of yet unconfirmed plot will likely take place in the future dystopian world of the game in which the player takes on the role of Aiden Pierce, a hacker, transgressor and all around bad-ass who tackles the increasingly invasive surveillance state by hacking into and utilising their own equipment against them.

The film is being developed by a partnership between the recently(ish) formed Ubisoft Motion Pictures and Sony Pictures Entertainment, who are also both working on the Rabbids movie that apparently exists.

While there is no confirmed release date for the film, the new game hits shelves on the imminent May 27th on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
