In case you missed it a few weeks ago, A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD’s Jai Courtney has been cast as Kyle Reese in Alan Taylor’s TERMINATOR: GENESIS. Talking to IGN, Courtney has been giving his thoughts on the film.

On joining the reboot of the TERMINATOR series, the actor said, “I’ve always had a bit of scepticism about something being rebooted. I remember when A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD came around a few years ago, I was like, ‘Really? They’re gonna make another one?’ and then I found myself in it and totally invested in it. I think it’s healthy to have that scepticism because you want it to be something special, you want to keep that eye for quality sharp.”

Courtney added, “When I read the script [for TERMINATOR: GENSIS], I was pretty into it and the story’s cool. It’s attached a great cast as well. I think Emilia Clarke is wonderful. And Jason Clarke as well I’m a big admirer of. So yeah, it’s gonna be really cool. I’m looking forward to doing that, and running around with Arnie won’t be too bad.”

Joining Courtney, Emilia Clarke will be playing Sarah Connor and Jason Clarke will be playing John Connor. As for Arnold Schwarzenegger, he’s involved in some capacity, with certain speculation claiming that he’ll be playing a human who the T-800 is based on.

Directed by THOR: THE DARK WORLD’s Alan Taylor, TERMINATOR: GENESIS is currently scheduled for a 1st July, 2015 release.
