Movie News

In some news that will take nobody by surprise, Marc Webb has been confirmed to direct THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3. Webb has previously helmed THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN and the upcoming THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2. He also happens to be highly involved in the creative side of the Spidey-verse that Sony Pictures is trying to create.

Nothing concrete is known about the plot of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3, although it’s presumed that further villainous faces will turn up in the Wallcrawler’s world as things continue to move towards the Sinister Six and a host of villains that seem to all be tied to Oscorp. Andrew Garfield is confirmed to return as Peter Parker and Paul Giamatti has also confirmed that he will return as Rhino.

In terms of the future plans for Spider-Man and his cast of supporting characters, THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3 has Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner on writing duties for the 10th June, 2016 release. Following this, THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 4 is scheduled for a 4th May, 2018 release, whilst spin-off films VENOM and THE SINISTER SIX are also in development. VENOM will be written by Kurtzman, Orci and Ed Solomon, with Kurtzman pulling double duty and taking directing duties. THE SINISTER SIX will be written and directed by THE CABIN IN THE WOODS’ Drew Goddard.
