Movie News: Cast Revealed for FANTASTIC FOUR Reboot

Movie News

It’s official (ish). Here’s your new FF, folks. As rumoured (slash feared) looks like Twentieth Century Fox are going out of their way to distance this as far from their two abysmally received previous adaptations as possible by reimagining the story for a significantly younger cast...

Miles Teller – Reed Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic)

Michael B. Jordan – Johnny Storm (aka The Human Torch)

Kate Mara – Sue Storm (aka The Invisible Woman)

Billy Elliot – Ben Grimm (aka The Thing)

Hmm. Let’s pray director Josh Trank knows what he’s doing, because this is going to cause some major fallout amongst long-time fans of the property.

THE FANTASTIC FOUR is scheduled to hit cinemas June 18th, 2015.

No, it's Jamie Bell (who played Billy Elliott) as Ben Grimm.

Quoting Adam:
This cast belongs in Spiderman's high school cafeteria.

That is a great way of putting it.

This is so bad. It's not what this fan wants, that's for sure, and I've gone to every Marvel movie that hit the theaters starting with Daredevil. I gotta pass on this "interpretation." It's just too damn far from the source material. Reed should be the mid 40's scientist hero, he's the Professor from Gilligan's island with a super power. Sue is the young and loyal ultra-feminine fashion model / actress who gets thrown in the super-hero game and is awkward at it. Johnny's the hot head youth. Ben is the embittered but loyal buddy - same age as Reed, mid 40's. This cast belongs in Spiderman's high school cafeteria.

I'm with PM on this one. I actually quite dug the other movies in a "guilty pleasure" type of way, and Chris Evans was a great Johnny Flame Boy. Miles Tellar as Reed Richards just sends an icy shiver down my spine, as if I've just walked in on Rolf Harris stroking his didgeridoo. Fingers crossed that those female Dr. Doom rumours turn out to be bogus.

Quoting Paul Mount:
Are we sure this isn't destined to become a TV series because that cast just screams "CW Network!" I'm in the minority which actually enjoyed the two previous FF films (no angst, just fun...maybe a bit too much fun, admittedly) so I have lower than low hopes for this teenfest.
