Movie News: Has Josh Trank's FANTASTIC FOUR Found Its Thing?

Movie News

With Josh Trank’s FANTASTIC FOUR reboot due to start shooting in March, we’ve still yet to hear any official casting for Marvel’s famous superhero family. In recent months we’ve seen Miles Teller, Kit Harington and Richard Madden being linked to the role of Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara and Saoirse Ronan for Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, and speculation claiming that Michael B. Jordan is a shoe-in to play Johnny Storm/Human Torch. Despite all of this, there’s been very, very little talk of one Benjamin J. Grimm.

Where The Thing is concerned, all we’ve had is THE EXPENDABLES’ Terry Crews throwing his hat into the ring and some shudder-inducing rumours that suggest the character may be purely CGI. Now, according to Movies.com, Josh Gad (shown below) is apparently in talks for play the Ben Grimm character. Gad is best known for his work in THE BOOK OF MORMON and FROZEN.

Again, this is all purely rumour for now, and director Josh Trank has taken to Twitter to deny any talks with Gad. Still, Trank did the same about stories of him having talks with Miles Teller and it now appears that Teller is the current favourite to play Reed Richards.

As mentioned, shooting is expected to start in March, meaning that the powers that be at 20th Century Fox needs to get things moving along quickly. Screenwriter Simon Kinberg has now completed the reboot’s script, and it’s expected that casting of the movie’s key roles is imminent.

Expect more on this as it becomes available, but you can guarantee we’ll be getting quite a lot of FF news over the coming weeks.

Trank’s FANTASTIC FOUR is currently slated for a 19th June, 2015 release.
