If 2010’s CLASH OF THE TITANS remake was too much for you, I’m sure you were giving serious daggers to Hollywood when 2012’s WRATH OF THE TITANS came along. Well, for now at least, you can sleep a little safer in the knowledge that the third wheel of Warner Brothers’ planned TITANS trilogy is seemingly dead in the water.

Speaking to IGN, producer Basil Iwanyk revealed, “In terms of CLASH OF THE TITANS 3, it’s one of those situations where a movie will float away and the come back when it’s supposed to come back. I think it is, ‘Okay, what’s the new idea? How do you make it fresh?’ A lot of movies have come out in that world, including IMMORTALS and 300. So there will be a time and place where someone will come up with a great idea for it and how to make it feel different and fresh from the previous ones. Then we’ll hopefully move forward on that.”

Now I know that missing out on another ‘successful’ Sam Worthington Hollywood blockbuster is a huge blow to cinema, but I’m sure audiences will somehow cope.

In terms of the ‘official stuff,’ 2010’s CLASH took home $493 million from a $125 million budget, whilst 2012’s sequel, WRATH, took $305 million from a $150 million budget.
