Movie News: New Poster For Disney’s MALEFICENT

Movie News

Angelina Jolie is feeling horny, quite literally that is (vulgarity is not welcome here, thank you very much), in this visually striking new poster for Disney’s upcoming film Maleficent. Another in the trend of re-interpreting classic fairy tales (Snow White and the Huntsmen, Mirror Mirror, Jack the Giant Slayer etc.), Maleficent looks at what made the infamously cold and intimidating character so evil. The story is from Maleficent’s (played by Angelina Jolie) perspective and sees the charming young woman’s forest home pillaged and her trust betrayed by those closest to her. Thus turning the young woman wicked and forcing her to place a curse upon the king’s daughter.

You need no further details as to where it all goes, with the film acting as a prequel to Disney’s beloved 1959 animated classic Sleeping Beauty. Maleficent will also star Elle Fanning, Miranda Richardson, Sharlto Copley, Imelda Staunton and Sam Riley and is helmed by Robert Stromberg (two time Art Direction Academy Award winner). Hopefully there is more to this than visual grace but on the evidence of this poster, it has caught our eye already. The film’s first trailer will be released tomorrow, so check back with Starburst for some more spellbinding content.

Maleficent will magically appear in cinemas on May 30th 2014.
