Is there some kind of 'Reveal-Off' going on this week? First we had THE DARK KNIGHT RISES set pics that gave us our first (decent) look at Tom Hardy's Bane, then Team Snyder stole the thunder by releasing his vision of MAN OF STEEL yesterday. Now Christopher Nolan has fired back with this, the long-awaited first look at TDKR's Catwoman! And it's... erm... Well, take a look for yourself...

Not quite what we were expecting. It's really just Anne Hathaway with goggles on. What with the mixed reaction to the look of Bane, this too is likely to cause people to wonder whether Nolan's costume designers are even trying these days. I think I even prefered Halle Berry's costume to this! The most interesting thing about the pic is the fact that she's riding The Batpod - is this a clue as to her dynamic with the Dark Knight? Or has she just nicked it?

All will be revealed next summer, I guess. Meantime, I'm going to go away and re-think that Halle Berry comment.

Here's a few more shots of TDKR's Catwoman, though strictly behind the scenes this time. The first set features Hathaway's stuntdouble escaping via the Batpod (seemingly amidst the chaos depicted in those Bane shots that hit last week), the second set are of Hathaway's stand-in - not that interesting on first look for sure, but look closer... is that Catwoman's mask she's clutching? Could Goggle-gate (above) prove to be a simple red herring?

What do you guys make of these shots? Is this the first glimpse of Catwoman's actual disguise, or is she just on her way to a fancy dress shindig? Let us know with your comments below!

Just to let you know, Man of Steel has been pushed back to 2013 now and Nick Cage's Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is also due out in 2012.

My own pick for the superhero showdown would be a tough call to make; most likely The Dark Knight Rises for the top box office but either Amazing Spider-Man or Avengers could take second place in my book. I hope they both do very well, especially The Avengers so as it definitely gets a sequel.

I hate C Bail and and his attempts at this, with his growely voice. As for Catwoman, she could at least wear a wing and contacts! The girl doesnt have a secret identity, just s&n fetish it seems.

Quoting J.D. Gillam:
Of the superhero films of next year, here's how I reckon they're going to be - quality wise. It doesn't matter how much money they make.
#1 The Avengers
#2 TDKR
#3 Man Of Steel
#4 Spiderman
Am I the only one who thinks that the new Spiderman looks absolutely devoid of new ideas? And that "Mirrors Edge" bit - nearly made me motion sick!
Nolan can do little wrong in my eyes, the fact is that he has kept his Gotham vision realistic, so costumes (esp compared to Schumacher) are fine IMHO.
The fact is we are going to be spoilt with the main characters next year.

I can't argue with J d on this one... Try as I might. ;-)

haha exactly what i thought until i scrolled down and read that!

personally i thought halle berry looked pretty awesome as catwoman.. i would definitely be excited for catwoman rises. just because the first one was a flop doesn't mean they can't do a reboot of a potentially really interesting franchise. they're rebooting everything else, so why not?

yes, it does look like the Batpod - but wasn't that destroyed in the last film? (I an't remember and I really need to watch it again) Come to think of it...so was the Batmobile, but somehow or other it's back with a Desert Storm themed makeover - despite The Tumber being a one-off prototype. They have some 'splainin to do. One thing I fervently hope is that Bale doesn't do that raspy Batman voice that makes me want to clear my throat incessantly.

I am so underwhelmed by everything I've seen from the latest Batman. I don't hold out much hope at all. I will hope that means I'm pleasantly surprised.
