[First up, please, if you haven’t seen Iron Man 3, do not read on. We’re not going to tell you why – just don’t. You’ll thank us later. Also, why haven’t you seen Iron Man 3 yet? Thor’s out next week, what’s up with you!]

* SPOILERS AHEAD *

The Marvel One-Shot series have been getting increasingly elaborate since the first (admittedly rather muted) entry The Consultant in 2011, culminating in this year’s wonderful Agent Carter, which saw Hayley Atwell reprise her Captain America: The First Avenger character in a 15-minute solo adventure. Now it seems Marvel might be upping the stakes again, and have drafted in the acclaimed thesp Ben Kingsley to star in his own short as Iron Man 3’s villain The Mandarin Trevor Slattery.

Kingsley recently revealed the project to The Belfast Telegraph (bet Marvel aren’t too happy with that), saying:

"It's a secret Marvel project. I'm not allowed to say any more, you're going to have to wait and see. I was with many members of the crew that were involved in Iron Man 3. It was lovely to see them again. It was great to be with this wonderful family."

Okay, so he doesn’t exactly say it’s a One-Shot, but we’re pretty sure a Trevor Slattery solo picture won’t be part of Marvel Studio’s Phase 3 slate. The only other option is a cameo. Since quite a lot of Thor: The Dark World is set in Slattery’s stomping ground, could he show up there?

All will be revealed…
