Movie News

We might not know their names yet, but writers Jason Pagan and Andrew Deutschman are set to hit big next year with their Michael Bay produced time-travel found footage flick, ALMANAC, and they've now landed another high profile gig, penning PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 5 for Paramount. As per usual there is zero information regarding concept or plot, but expect to see more of that creepy-ass coven. Perhaps in another five movies we'll have actually learnt something about them. While these movies still deliver the scares, but in terms of advancing the overarching mythology we're lucky if we get ten minutes spent on it per film, so perhaps Pagan (how apt!) and Deutschman can fix that now that regular writer Christopher Landon has moved on.

As previously reported, the fifth entry in the series will be joined in 2014 by its first spin-off movie, PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE MARKED ONES, which is currently scheduled for a January release in the US and UK. PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 5 meanwhile will open in its traditional Halloween slot.
