What’s that saying about aim for the stars? Not only does Ellen Page want a solo Kitty Pryde, she wants uber-geek Joss Whedon to direct the film. The pint-sized actress spilled the beans to NY Mag.

When asked about a possible solo Shadowcat outing, Page said, “I’m available. I love that. Kitty Pryde’s awesome. I would be so thrilled to play Kitty Pryde again. I really would.”

She then brought the interview to a close by saying she’d love to get Joss Whedon in to direct said feature. That’s even more unlikely than getting a Kitty film into production in the first place.

Whilst Kitty Pryde was essentially lost in the shuffle of X-MEN: THE LAST STAND, there actually was talks of a solo film at one point. After THE LAST STAND, 20th Century Fox asked Jason Reitman to direct a Kitty Pryde flick, with Diablo Cody approached to pen the script. The pair previously worked with Page on JUNO.

As for Kitty, she’s next set to play a pivotal role in Bryan Singer’s upcoming X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, which is released next year.
