Movie News: Zack Snyder Addresses MAN OF STEEL’s Carnage

Movie News

Whether people loved the film or hated it, MAN OF STEEL has had a fair-amount of criticism for the amount of destruction, death and carnage that was caused directly/indirectly by the Big, Blue Boy Scout. Leaving to the film’s defence, director Zack Snyder recently spoke to The Japan Times to address this issue.

Snyder proclaimed, “I wanted the movie to have a mythological feeling. In ancient mythology, mass deaths are used to symbolize disasters. In other countries like Greece and Japan, myths were recounted through the generations, partly to answer unanswerable questions about death and violence. In America, we don’t have that legacy of ancient mythology. Superman is probably the closest we get. It’s a way of recounting the myth.”

Of course, the old mythological argument…

Either way, MAN OF STEEL has a sequel on the way for 2015. Let’s see how much destruction that brings.

What about remorse for killing so many people? He has no clue of the mythology of Superman. He just wanted the carnage of a Transformers movie.

Lame! Pretty weak excuse from Snyder.
