Movie News

It’s always good to start the week with a slightly random story. So, with that said, get the salt at the ready for this one.

A user on the SuperheroHype forums claims to have a family member that has been working on the set of Marc Webb’s THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2. Said family member has let it slip that Jim Carrey will be making a small appearance as Cletus Kasady in the film. Spidey-fans across the globe will immediately notice that name as the crazed maniac that becomes Carnage. It’s said that the cameo appearance by Carrey’s Kasady will be as an inmate at the Ravenscroft Institute, with the Carnage appearance being held off until THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 4.

Carrey was previously spotted on the set of the film back in March, although nothing was thought of it at the time. Also, the actor was previously in talks to play Carnage in Sam Raimi’s SPIDER-MAN 4 before that film was shelved.

Of course, where there’s Carnage, there has to be Venom, which opens up a whole other topic.

As mentioned, take this story with a huge grain of salt for now, but expect more on this as it develops. That said, if Kasady and Carnage are parts of Webb’s plans, Carrey would be absolutely perfect in the role.
