Movie News: Bryan Cranston Up for Major MAN OF STEEL Sequel Role?

Movie News

Now before we get too excited (because this news is pretty damn awesome) it’s best we point out that this is a rumour, and a very early one at that: Bryan Cranston might be in talks with Snyder and co. to take the role of Lex Luthor in 2015’s MAN OF STEEL sequel.

The news originated from El Mayimbe of, who tweeted some playful clues as to the actor's identity earlier today, without expressly naming Cranston.

@elmayimbe: Which superhot actor finishing final season of hit TV show who also was in 2 films for WB is up for juicy badguy part? :)

@elmayimbe: In fact, this actor is in this studio's tentpole which comes out next summer. :)

(GODZILLA, naturally.)

@elmayimbe: FINAL CLUE FOR Y'ALL FANBOY KNUCKLEHEADS WHO CAN'T TAKE A HINT: This actor played a bad guy (embarrassed that he did) on the POWER RANGERS.

(In fact this came up on Leno just the other night; check it out.)

It’s a little odd that the site itself hasn’t ran it as a news story, so perhaps Mayimbe was told in the strictest confidence, who knows.

After watching Cranston's subtle transformation from mild mannered high school teacher to terrifying meth kingpin in BREAKING BAD, I for one couldn’t think of anybody more perfect for the role. Forget your Mark Strongs, I've got my fingers crossed this particular rumour turns out to be true.

We’ll have more as it develops…
