Movie News

Michael Bay and team have been quite cagey as to who everybody will be playing in next year's reboot, to the point where there wasn't even an official announcement that Megan Fox was portraying April O' Neil. Luckily pap shots featuring her in yellow threads and sporting a new, red-tinged 'do weren't too far behind, with more set pics also confirming Will Arnett's character to be Vernon Fenwick, her double-crossing camera guy. There haven't been any pictures of William Fichtner on set as of yet, meaning we're still in the dark as to who the veteran actor will play. Until today!

"I play Shredder," Fichtner confirmed to HuffPost TV Canada, causing director Jonathan Liebesman to have an embolism (probably). It is cool. It's one of those things that came along where I thought, "Really? Let me think about this for a minute." [Laughs] Then I was like, 'Yeah, OK, this sounds like a journey.' I'm very glad that it worked out, I'm really glad that I'm doing it.”

So there we have it. Fichtner’s our new Shredder. Interesting choice indeed!

Fichtner will next be seen in Disney’s THE LONE RANGER, which gallops into UK cinemas August 9th. TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES opens June 2014.
