There has been a positive development concerning the TOMB RAIDER reboot in the shape of Marti Noxon (above).

Noxon – a former cohort of Joss Whedon (she was a long-running writer and producer on BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, even stepping in as showrunner on season 6) - will be penning the next cinematic adventure of Lara Croft for MGM.

It is currently unknown if the film will take a similar path to Square Enix's successful 2013 game reboot (reviewed here), which focused on the earliest adventures of Lara. Either way, Noxon has a fine ear for supplying her characters with snappy dialogue, and the ability to create interesting stories as proven by her scripts for ANGEL and MAD MEN.

This might be one computer game adaptation that’s worth the trek to the palace of moving pictures.
