Movie News

DC/Vertigo's FABLES is the latest comic book property to get the cinematic treatment, with the news that David Heyman & Jeffrey Clifford, two of the producers behind the moderately successful HARRY POTTER franchise, are developing the adaptation for their Heyday Films banner. Screenwriter Jeremy Slater (THE FANTASTIC FOUR reboot) and filmmaker Nikolaj Arcel (THE ROYAL AFFAIR) will write and direct respectively.

Willingham’s award-winning title, for those new to it, began over a decade ago and charts the lives of certain fairytale characters – Snow White, the Big Bad Wolf, Pinocchio, etc - who have left their fictional realms and are living in secret amongst us. (And yes, it does sounds like the premise of ONCE UPON A TIME, but FABLES predates it by nine years!) There have been over 130 issues and numerous spin-offs since its launch.

We’ll have more news on FABLES as it develops…
