Movie News

Guillermo del Toro was in attendance at the Los Angeles Times Hero Complex Festival this past weekend. Whilst there he revealed which characters would form the team for the in development JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK (aka HEAVEN SENT). It will hardly come as a surprise to readers of the DC comic to know that the team will consist of John Constantine, Deadman, Madame Xanadu, and Zatanna. For those unfamiliar with the Justice League Dark, it is an off-shoot of the Justice League specifically dedicated to dealing with mystical and supernatural threats to the DC Universe.

Del Toro added that other characters would be included such as Swamp Thing and, “everybody that doesn’t feel like a repeat.” Could he be alluding toThe Phantom Stranger and Etrigan the Demon amongst others?

Warner Brothers have yet to officially green light the project but Del Toro concluded, “If they like the [script], I’ll do it; if not…”

Should Warner’s give the go-ahead it’s just possible, that if its release coincides with Marvel’s DOCTOR STRANGE, we could witness a mystical box-office battle. Which would reign supreme I wonder?
