Forget Iron Man, Superman and Star Trek; the summer blockbuster Starburst Magazine and its right-thinking readers will be most looking forward to is on its way, due to hit our screens on July 19th… just over two months time! It’s The World’s End, the third in the so-called ‘three flavours cornetto’ trilogy (following the sublime Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz) from the British dream team of director/writer Edgar Wright and co-stars Simon Pegg (co-writer) and Nick Frost. The cast also includes Paddy Considine, Martin Freeman, Eddie Marsan, Mark Heap, Michael Smiley (who also appeared in the trio’s classic C4 sitcom Spaced), David Bradley and Rosamund Pike. The film, said to evoke the sci-fi style of British authors John Wyndham and Sam Youd (aka John Christopher), concerns a group of five childhood friends reuniting to recreate a legendary pub crawl from their youth, their ultimate destination being the fabled ‘World’s End’ pub. But their struggle to reach the pub becomes Mankind’s own struggle and before long completing the pub crawl becomes the least of the group’s worries…

Here’s a new poster [and now trailer!] from the movie. Is it July 19th yet? Why not???

OOooooooo, I'm doing a giddily excited happy dance. The blue eyed horde in the background suggests Aliens MUST be ending our world - it couldn't be a zombie-like plague AGAIN could it?
