Movie News

In a category some might call ‘please stop flogging that dead horse’ comes the news that Sony have put a fourth entry in the increasingly-tired Men in Black franchise into development. It seems that the public’s appetite, at least, for the antics of Will Smith’s Agent J knows no bounds as Men in Black 3, released last summer, pulled in an impressive $625 million dollars worldwide at the Box Office (from a budget of $215 million) - the biggest numbers yet for the series. The fourth movie will be written by Oren Uziel (Mortal Kombat: Rebirth) and thewrap.com reports that he will begin work on the script following completion of his current commission, a sequel to the hit TV movie reboot 21 Jump Street starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill. No news yet as to whether Smith’s partner Tommy Lee Jones will return to the franchise (he played little more than a cameo in the last movie, whose time travel theme saw Smith’s J travel back to 1969 to work alongside Josh Brolin’s younger version of K) or if Emma Thompson will return to her role as MIB boss Agent O.

More news on this one in the months to come, we suspect.
