Movie News

Well we weren’t expecting this at all! The minute execs started to flip-flop on their earlier statement last year that Season 8 would be the show’s last, we absolutely saw the storyline being stretched out for another few years. Not so, it seems. Despite garnering record numbers in its seventh (excellent) season, Showtime have announced officially that DEXTER will indeed conclude with Season 8!

Showtime President David Nevins said today: "DEXTER is a landmark franchise for our network, and we cannot wait to unveil the conclusion of this series, as we know it, to the millions of passionate fans who have supported the show season after season. We'd like to thank Michael, Jennifer, and Dexter's indomitable cast, executive producers, writers and crew for eight incredible seasons."

Now to start speculating as to what fate will befall Miami’s Most Wanted. Will he be caught? Live happily ever after? Allow his Dark Passenger to take the driver's seat and go full mental? While you're placing your bets, check out this first clip (if you're fully caught up that is):

You must have the Adobe Flash Player installed to view this player.

DEXTER returns to US screens in June 30th. Its UK premiere? Your guess is as good as ours. We've been shafted for seven straight years.
