Movie News: MGM To Produce TOMB RAIDER Reboot

Movie News

With developers Edios recently garnering much acclaim for their rebooted TOMB RAIDER videogame, Hollywood is planning on following suit with their own.

MGM Studios have acquired the feature film rights and will partner with GK Films on the new franchise. GK initially purchased the rights in May 2011.

While Angelina Jolie proved a great choice as Lara Croft, the two previous movies were let down by weak scripts and uninspired direction from Simon West and Jan de Bont, two action filmmakers that should have really knocked the material out of the park. With so much potential in the property let's hope that they get it right this time around.
