Movie News

With production now officially kicked-off in Vancouver, a new casting nugget has emerged that sees Ken Watanabe (BATMAN BEGINS / INCEPTION) join the western re-remake of the beloved Japanese property.

Although no official announcement was made prior to starting, it looks like all earlier reports were bang on, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson (KICK-ASS), Elizabeth Olsen (SILENT HOUSE), Bryan Cranston (TOTAL RECALL), Juliette Binoche (COSMOPOLIS) and David Strathairn (ALPHAS) all on board. Aside from Johnson and Olsen's pairing, Cranston as her step-father and Strathairn as some kind of military bod, no further details are available at present.

That said, now filming has begun we'll be keeping a close eye on this, so expect lots more updates to drop over the coming weeks...
