Scott is teaming up with online video hub Machinima to develop a collection of twelve original sci-fi projects through his commercials/tv/music-video outfit, RSA (Ridley Scott Associates).

Machinima has previously hosted popular original online content such as the MORTAL KOMBAT LEGACY series, HALO 4: FORWARD INTO DAWN, and most recently BATTLESTAR GALACTICA BLOOD & CHROME.

The companies will also be looking to further develop the shorts into possible feature properties should one or more prove to be particularly popular. “By combining this unique incubation model together with our powerful partnership of established creative talent and scaled distribution to millions on Machinima, we believe new sci-fi franchises will be born,” said the site’s CEO/co-founder Allen DeBevoise.

We'll have more information on this interesting project as it develops...
