Movie News: Robert Downey Jr Looks Into The BLACK MIRROR

Movie News

Perfectly timed to coincide with the return of Charlie Brooker’s BLACK MIRROR on Channel 4 comes news that Robert Downey Jr has purchased the movie rights to the season one episode, THE ENTIRE HISTORY OF YOU. The IRON MAN star's production company, Team Downey, will be developing the sci-fi tale for a big-screen adaptation, though it isn't known whether he will step in front of the camera or remain behind.

The story concerns a near future in which we’ve come to rely on an implant called the 'Grain'. This device records everything we do, allowing your entire life to be accessed at anytime, be it just for your personal entertainment, or to bore your friends and family. Naturally, being a BLACK MIRROR tale, this tech brings with it sinister consequences in some users.

Could Robert Downey Jr take the Toby Kebbel role? Will there even be a Toby Kebbel role, or is this a fresh story within the same universe? All will be revealed in good time.

Personally, although this was widely regarded as the best of the season, I’d much prefer a movie version of 15 MILLION MERITS. Although considering how fast our obsession with reality television continues to consume us, the world will probably operate like that by the time its finished being adapted.

Watch BLACK MIRROR on Channel 4, Monday nights at 10pm. Also available via your Grain implant. Oh, and 4OD
