Movie News

Lakeshore Entertainment (the company behind those patchy but ever popular UNDERWORLD movies) has purchased the movie rights to the 2007 Image comic book, THE SWORD.

Acclaimed comic book creators the Luna Brothers (GIRLS / ULTRA) are behind the title, which tells the story of Dara, a young paraplegic who comes into possession of a mysterious magical sword (it's not as goofy as it sounds; honest) which restores her ability to walk - and then some! Blessed with extraordinary psychical abilities – Wolverine-style healing, super strength - Dara uses the sword to uncover the mystery behind the recent slaughter of her family at the hands of three strangers. Will she get her revenge? If you want to find out you've got two choices: 1) Wait for the movie to come out. But you've got a few years at the very least. And there's always a chance it's one of them options which never gets any further in the development process. Overall, risky strategy. We suggest you go with: 2) get your butt over to Amazon and pick up all 24-issues in four trade paperback collections, or one giant hardcover deluxe for you fancy-pants types. Links below, folks!

It's early days at present, so crucial deets such as director, screenwriter and cast have yet to be announced, but we will be sure to keep you updated as and when this projects develops.
