Movie News

Those lucky enough to be going to Comic Con this year won't need "sight beyond sight" to preview the Cartoon Network's brand new THUNDERCATS series, with Warner Bros Animation announcing that it will unveil the hour-long first episode in full for all in attendance.

Well bully for them-- Wait, what? THERE'S A NEW 'THUNDERCATS' TV SERIES?!

Yep, and from what we've seen so far it looks pretty damn good too. Not only does the series mark the long-awaited return of all your favourite characters from the '80s original (yes, including Snarf), but Studio 4C (makers of BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHTS and THE ANIMATRIX, which let's face it, wiped the floor with both sequels) promise to honour the older fans with a darker, more adult tone.

Let's have a look...

THUNDERCATS airs in the US on the 29th July. No UK release as of yet we're afraid, but we'll keep you in the loop.

As cool as it looks, here at Starburst we're still holding out hope that the property will one day get the big-screen treatment. Could it top this awesome fan made trailer from a few years back?
