Movie News

With the third film in the [REC] series, GENESIS, unwisely forgoing the found footage approach and swapping all-out horror for lacklustre laughs, next year's entry has a long way to go if it wants to get the franchise back on track. That said, judging by this newly released teaser trailer, it does promise that director Jaume Balaguero (no Paco Plaza this time) plans to to return the series to its roots. With the story picking up in the aftermath of [REC]2, this is essentially a 'story so far' highlights type deal, but it's an essential watch nonetheless as it serves as a reminder as to just how terrifying those first two movies were. Enjoy...

Synopsis:

Angela Vidal, the young television reporter who entered the building with the fireman, manages to make it out alive. But what the soldiers don’t know is that she carries the seed of the strange infection. She is to be taken to a provisional quarantine facility, a high-security installation where she will have to stay in isolation for several days. An old oil tanker, miles off shore and surrounded by water on all sides, has been especially equipped for the quarantine.

[REC]4 APOCALYPSE will make its bow sometime in 2013.
