Movie News: Writer Saddles Up For Comic Book Adap, THE NEW WEST

Hollywood continues to dig deep for comic book properties that have yet to be adapted into giant cinematic cash-cows, with production company BenderSpink moving forward with their version of Jimmy Palmiotti’s 2005 mini-series THE NEW WEST, which they optioned back in February. Newcomer Ryan Engle has been brought in to draft the script, which tells the tale of an EMP ruined Los Angeles and the dodgy ex-cop, Daniel Wise, who must make the dangerous journey across the powerless wastelands on a rescue mission to bring back the city’s missing mayor, armed with only his sword and a trusty steed by his side. Wonder if the guys behind REVOLUTION ever read this thing? Hmmm.
