Movie News

Whilst Michael Arndt is busy working away on his script for EPISODE VII, Deadline is reporting that Disney has approached Lawrence Kasdan about co-scripting Episodes VIII and IX with X-MEN: FIRST CLASS and DAYS OF FUTURE PAST screenwriter Simon Kinberg, working on the story template laid out by George Lucas.

Kasdan has worked on STAR WARS before, providing the scripts for THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK and RETURN OF THE JEDI. If the deal goes through (and The Hollywood Reporter is already announcing the deal is now closed), Kasdan and Kinberg will also be brought on as producers. It certainly looks like Disney and LucasFilm are making the right moves to bring back the magic that made the original trilogy the beloved classic that it is.
