Movie News

Shatner fans have been dealt a deadly blow - the original Kirk will not be appearing in 'Star Trek 2'...

The info comes straight from William Shatner himself at the Calgary Expo in Canada over the weekend. When questioned about the chances of him being on board the J.J. Abrams Trek sequel he was very up front. "I've become an acquaintance of J.J. [Abrams] of late ... But, I'm afraid no, no, I will not be in Star Trek 2".

So that's it then? Not even a Cameo or a Flashback. Abrams himself has always been vocal about the fact that, unlike Spock, Kirk had been killed off in the Movie series. It seems that this was an issue of credibility for the new version of the Franchise...

I completely agree with the decision, actually. For once Abrams is sticking to cannon.
