Movie News

Not to be confused with the European motion capture animated movie production starring Kellan Lutz, Warner Bros have also had a live action TARZAN movie in development for many years. Most recently Craig Brewer (BLACK SNAKE MOAN) was lined up to direct the film after he finished FOOTLOOSE but has now departed.

Word is that HARRY POTTER 5-7 director David Yates is very close to signing on to direct a new big budget movie featuring the ape-man. So who would play Tarzan in Yates' new version? Well apparently Yates is keen on Tom Hardy but the other names on their wish list for the man in the loincloth include Henry Cavill, Charlie Hunnam and Alexander Skarsgard who are all likely to hit it big in the next year or so thanks to the various projects they have coming out.

The screenplay will have to be something special to lure major talent and although Yates isn’t exactly a C list name, he hasn’t made anything outside of wizards and muggles yet. Do modern audiences even remember what Tarzan is anymore?
