Movie News

Will producers Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell and Robert Tapert be able to successfully replicate 'The Ultimate Experience In Gruelling Terror' for a new generation? We'll know for certain come April, but in the meantime check out the first trailer, available in non-bootleg form at long last!

You must have the Adobe Flash Player installed to view this player.

As Bruce himself said yesterday in that great trailer tease (if you missed it, watch it HERE it's well worth it), "You need horror with blood flowing down the streets!" - it certainly looks like it's at least going to deliver on that promise. But we have to say, isn't it the comedy and charm above the violence that made the franchise such a fan favourite? With no Ash and no trademark Raimi visual craziness, this just won't be the same. Will it be a good movie? We hope so. A good EVIL DEAD movie though? Hmmm. We're still saddened that this marks the end of the canon we knew and love. Yes, I've finally given up on my hope that this could be set in the same universe, thus allowing Ash to appear in a cameo. It was nice to dream.

Official Synopsis:

'In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.'

The EVIL DEAD are unleashed once more on April 12th 2013.
