Movie News: Get Ready For A Double Dose Of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY In 2013…

Written by Kris Heys Monday, 22 October 2012

Movie News

Despite only opening days ago, Paramount have already announced that we’ll have another installment of the popular found footage franchise next Halloween. Considering how much box office it managed to scare up over the weekend here in the UK and the States it's the least surprising news we're going to hear all week. But the studio isn’t stopping there... Not only has PA5 been greenlit, but they’re also moving forward on a spin-off movie (if you stayed past the credits of PA4 you will have seen this teased). Unusually, the film is being specifically designed to play to Latino audiences, who according to Paramount are the “biggest supporters of the property”, and will feature a mix of English and Spanish dialogue with a predominant Latino cast. The yet to be titled movie will be produced by regulars Jason Blum & Oren Peli, with PA2, PA3, and PA4 writer Christopher Landon stepping up to handle directing duties.

It’s thought the spin-off movie will open in Spring 2013 while PA5 will retain its now traditional October slot.
