With acclaimed animator Genndy Tartakovsky currently on pimping duties for his first feature, HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA, the subject of his creation SAMURAI JACK is bound to come up. Where’s the movie version dude, what gives?
“…it's not dead for sure by any means, and it's still on the top of my list, and I'm trying as hard as I can.”
That’s what we like to hear! In the interview picked up by IGN, Tartakovsky says that Sony Pictures Digital Production President Bob Osher is behind the movie version, and the two of them are actively pushing ahead to get the long-mooted project up on screen.
Bear in mind that should HOTEL TRANSLYVANIA hit big, it increases Tartakovsky’s status and thusly ups the chance of JACK getting a greenlight. So let’s all put our Adam Sandler troubles aside and go see it when it opens October 12th.
Not sure I can stomach his POPEYE reboot though.
