Movie News: Will Smith Still Seeks THE REDEMPTION OF CAIN...

Back in 2007 movie-goers saw Will Smith tackle vampires (of sorts) in the financially lucrative, but frustratingly uneven I AM LEGEND (above), and now he’s looking to explore the world of the bloodsucker once more in THE REDEMPTION OF CAIN, which has finally been given the greenlight over at Sony Pictures.

Written by the brother of Smith’s wife, Caleeb Pinkett, in 2010, the film will put a new vampy spin on the biblical tale of Cain and Abel. Back then Smith was planning not only to star (as Cain), but to make this directorial debut too. There’s no confirmation as to whether this is still the case, but with talk of a summer 2013 start date we’ll know for sure very shortly.
