Movie News

Horrible news for Coulrophobia sufferers the world over, but great news for fans of the 1988 kult klassic KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE - a sequel's finally in the works!

Speaking with horror site Freddyinspace.com recently, original star Grant Cramer had this to say,  "We have a script and a commitment for all our funding but the money can't be spent until we have a distribution deal in place so that's where we are – talking to distributors. As soon as that final piece comes into place we should be pretty much good to go."

Director Stephen Chiodo will return to helm the sequel - currently titled THE RETURN OF THE KILLER KLOWNS IN 3D (natch) - based on a script by Cramer himself.

Though the movie scared the living krap out of me as a khild (hold on, that one didn't work), I was lucky enough to rediscover it as a horror-obsessed teen and have been a huge fan ever since. Just hope the guys can do the original justice. Nice to see they're getting a krack at it before Plantinum Dunes or somebody snapped the rights up for reboot treatment. Kolour me very happy indeed!

We'll keep you up to date with any further developments, but in the meantime why not reacquaint yourselves with the horror komedy...

And of course, 'that' theme tune by The Dickies:

Do you think the guys can pull off a worthy sequel after all this time, or would you rather the original just be left to stand alone? Let us know with your comments below!
