
Universal are reportedly in talks with acclaimed comedic actor Jim Carrey to step back into the spotlight for a key role in KICK-ASS 2. If the star signs, he would be playing the part of The Colonel, a character who is responsible for assembling his own band of avengers, Justice Forever, in order to combat an out of control Red Mist. How out of control? Well, he’s now gone full supervillain, changed his name to The Motherf**ker, and advocates dog-stomping and gang rape. (Though quite how new director Jeff Wadlow plans to depict such atrocities on screen without splitting cinema audiences not used to such dubious, go-to comic book extremes is another matter.)
Justice Forever consists of Dave Lizewski / Kick-Ass himself, along with the recently cast Donald Faison as Doctor Gravity and Robert Emms as Insect Man.
Expect an announcement as to whether Carrey says yay or nay over the next few days…
