Movie News: Director Named For GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Gig!

Written by Kris Heys Saturday, 18 August 2012

Movie News

Marvel Studios are reportedly in talks with none other than long-time Starburst favourite JAMES GUNN to helm their high-profile space adventure, part of their PHASE TWO series of movies that will culminate with AVENGERS 2 in 2015.

For the rare few of you who are unfamiliar with his work, Gunn’s most recent movie was the uncompromising vigilante flick, SUPER, but he’s probably best known for his excellent alien parasite romp SLITHER starring Nathan Fillion. He also wrote one of history’s only good remakes, Zack Snyder’s DAWN OF THE DEAD and though he also penned both SCOOBY-DOO flicks, let’s not hold that against him. Everybody needs a break from ripping people’s heads off their necks once in a while! (The gamers amongst you might not realise, but the very same fella also wrote this year’s LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW.)

Whether this will come to pass or not remains to be seen, but we seriously doubt Gunn wouldn’t jump at the chance to score such a high profile, and frankly quite awesome, gig!

Expect an announcement shortly; we’ll keep y'all in the loop as always...
