Mark your calendars for June 28th 2013* folks, for Universal have announced this is the day Dave Lizewski and co return to our screens in the sequel most of us thought would never come to be. Awesome news indeed.

*Well, that’s the US release date anyway, but we don’t anticipate us lot in the UK will have to wait much longer, if at all.

In other KICK-ASS rumblings, Morris Chestnut (last seen as Luke in AMERICAN HORROR STORY) has signed to play Hit-Girl’s handler, while Robert Emms (MIRROR MIRROR) will portray the cop-turned superhero, Insect Man.

Shooting is set to begin this September, with all the principal cast set to reprise their roles.
