And the honour goes to Quentin Tarantino favourite Christoph Waltz (so great in INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS, yet so-so in THE GREEN HORNET), who will take over from the previously rumoured Billy Bob Thornton.

Waltz will portray Qohen Leth, a reclusive scientist developing technology that will hopefully lead to unraveling the mysteries of the universe.

Pat Rushin penned the acclaimed screenplay way back in 2008, and as is typical of Gilliam the film has had a troubled production, with several start dates announced before the project was pulled.

Now it seems to be full steam ahead once again, with an October 22nd start date scheduled. With any luck, Waltz won't pull a DON QUIXOTE and keel over a few weeks in.
